Itinerary

Day 1-2

Arrival in Oslo

Welcome to Oslo! Norway's rapidly growing capital, which is still considered a small city, helped by the fact that it's surrounded by mountains and sea. Not only is the city centre made for walking, but outlying neighbourhoods—filled with charm and character—are easily accessible by public transportation, so jump on a tram, train, or bus and explore all of what Oslo has to offer!

After a well deserved rest at the hotel, begin your day exploring more of Oslo. One option is to head up to the Holmenkollen Ski resort area. Take the tram as far as you can get and then walk the last few meters to the top. Once up in Holmenkollen we recommend that you visit the ski tower and the ski museum. Amazing photo opportunities overlooking Oslo City.

Back in town again we recommend you explore the Oslo Food hall for some samples of typical as well as international dishes!

Today you will be in Røros Husky’s experienced hands, you're completely safe on our trips. In general no previous experience with sled dog teams is necessary. There are a variety of possibilities, and we'll be happy to make the trip fit to your wishes and requirements.

2,5 hours trip and 4 hours trip: Each participant will get an own team with 4-6 dogs. It's also possible to have two people on each team. A guide will drive his own team in front whereupon the other teams follow. The trip will take place in forest and mountain terrain, on easy and enjoyable trails. We will also have a short break during this trip. There will be given a short briefing before start

All-day trip (6 hours): Now we're driving up in the mountains! The first part of the trip will go through nice forest terrain, and after that we'll reach the naked rock area. Now you'll really get the chance to experience the co-operation and contact between musher and dogs. You'll have 4-6 dogs in your team. Dogs whose biggest desire is to be at work in front of the sled. In the mountains we'll have a 1 hour break where you'll be offered a warm drink. The dogs will also get something nutritious to eat. We will build a fire, make coffee and have a nice time around the fireplace.

To be a passenger: It's also possible to join a sled dog trip without being the musher yourself. You will then sit in the sled nicely wrapped in reindeer skins around you enjoying the views on route.
