Also during this journey, you will interact with the local families to learn about Indian Culture, use of Indian spices in Indian cooking ; introduce yourself to the traditional block printing on fabric and 1 session of yoga to get introduced to this ancient practice !! For stay, we have included Trident hotels in Delhi - Jaipur - Agra which are part of The Oberoi group of hotels. It is one of the reputed hotel chains in the world and also owns Luxury hotels. Incase you wish to explore option of staying in these hotels, please let us know. We would be happy to advise you supplement for same. These prices are not applicable from 20 Dec to 10 Jan & during Holi and Diwali holidays. If you are travelling between May to September, though these would be summer and monsoon months but you will be able to save some cost on hotels. Please let us know your travel dates !!!

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Delhi

Arrive Delhi and meet your representative at airport. Transfer to hotel (check-in time 14h00).

You will be received at the airport by your local representative who will be carrying placard of your name and will accompany you to the hotel for check-in.

Day 2

Delhi

Start your tour to India with visit to Rajghat, memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi (also known as Father of Nation).

Continue with orientation tour of New Delhi, the foundation stone of the city was laid by Emperor George V during the Delhi Durbar of 1911.

Continue your exploration by visiting Humayun’s Tomb built in the 1560’s, with the patronage of Humayun’s son, the great Emperor Akbar. Persian and Indian craftsmen worked together to build the garden-tomb, far grander than any tomb built before in the Islamic world.

Later proceed to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, one of the prominent Sikh gurdwara or Sikh house of worship.

All Sikh temples have a concept of “langar, a communal free kitchen offering free sit-down meal”. It is practiced here too, and all people, regardless of race or religion may eat in the Gurdwara kitchen (langar hall). The Langar (food) is prepared by volunteers who wish to help out and by gursikhs who work there. It is believed that everyday around 25000 people eat in this hall. You are supposed to cover your head with a scarf and clean your feet with water at the entrance..

Day 3

Delhi / Jaipur (by road – approx. 5 hr)

Morning drive to Jaipur, an enthralling prolific “pink city” and capital of Rajasthan state. The city was painted in pink to welcome the Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria in 1876 since the colour is the mark of Hospitality. As a result, Jaipur started to be known as the Pink City.

Later in afternoon Old City Rickshaw tour (45 minutes to 1 hour duration) with Pink City Rickshaw company, a unique innovative initiative of a not for profit organization that aims to provide a new aspirational employment opportunity to women from low income households in Jaipur. Skilled to ply custom designed e-rickshaws, they have enrolled as equity holders in the Pink City Rickshaw Co. that they now proudly own and manage.

After rickshaw ride, continue in your car to a local family where you will learn about tradition of block printing on fabric. Later enjoy the dinner with local family…interact with family and learn about Indian cooking and spices.

Pink City Rickshaw company is a unique innovative initiative of a not for profit organization that aims to provide a new aspirational employment opportunity to women from low income households in Jaipur. During visit to local family for dinner, lady travelers will learn wearing Indian sari and also Mehndi, is a form of body art in which decorative designs are created on hands and feet.

Day 4

Jaipur

Morning excursion to the famous Amber Fort constructed in the 16th century by Maan Singh. The fort is known for its architectural splendour manifested in Sukh Mandir, the Hall of Public Audience, Sheesh Mahal and Kesar Kyari.

Later proceed to beautiful palace that came into existence with the establishment of the city of Jaipur.

Continue to visit 18th century astronomical observation site, the Jantar Mantar. This UNESCO World Heritage site has collection of some 20 fixed astronomical instruments built by the Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II.

Day 5

Jaipur / Agra (by road approx.. 6 hrs drive)

Morning drive to Agra with enroute stop at UNESCO World Heritage site of Fatehpur Sikri to visit this ghost town.

Continue to Agra, once a Mughal capital.

Later continue to Agra Fort, also called Red Fort, large 16th-century of red sandstone located on the Yamuna river.

Fatehpur Sikri, the City of Victory, was the capital of the Mughal Empire for only some 10 years.

Day 6

Agra / Delhi

Morning introduction to Yoga, a 5,000-year-old Indian knowledge. Yoga involves various breathing exercises, yoga poses (asanas) and meditation.

After breakfast visit Taj Mahal (closed on Friday).

The Taj Mahal, an enormous mausoleum complex was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the remains of his beloved wife.

Later drive to Delhi (no accommodation booked in Delhi).

Later in evening, transfer to airport to connect flight to next destination.

Taj Mahal was constructed over a 20-year period and is one of the most outstanding examples of Mughal architecture, which combined Indian, Persian and Islamic influences.

Fly back

Intime transfer to airport to connect flight back home or to next destination

  • Ayurvedic Message for 45 minutes (once during the tour) in Jaipur.
  • 1 hour yoga class with private yoga practitioner in Agra.
  • Road taxes, parking fee, fuel charges, interstate taxes, and porterage at airports only (wherever applicable).
  • Airport representative for assistance at airport on arrival and departure transfers only.
  • All currently applicable taxes (5% GST, subject to change).
