Crossing the Central Massif - Peneda-Gerês

2 Day Hike - 34km Serra Amarela Mountain Range The interpretive trail of the Serra Amarela develops on the two sides of the mountain - the North side, facing the Lima river, in Ponte da Barca municipality, and the South side, facing the river Homem and the Vilarinho das Furnas reservoir, in the municipality of Terras de Bouro - covering about 35 kilometres on footpaths, carters or sidewalks. It is a circular trail, but due to its length it is recommended that it be done in two or more stages. The Serra Amarela is one of the great reliefs that are part of the Peneda-Gerês National Park (PNPG), reaching its maximum elevation in Louriça, at 1364 meters of altitude. It consists mostly of granites although there is also a narrow strip with shales . The climate is cool in summer and winters are harsh, with high levels of precipitation, often in the form of snow. A crossing with impressive landscapes and magical places to visit.

I was born in Venezuela in 1967 and I´m the owner and guide of Honovitours. Since my youth, I had the taste for nature through camping with friends and family. At the age of 18, I discovered the pull towards mountaineering, I then became a climber and now I have climbed mountains from across all five continents on our precious planet earth.

Travel gives us our greatest stories, our most cherished memories and countless irreplaceable learnings that we can choose to pay forward to others. It teaches us about ourselves and each other, it broadens our horizons and, just like a reset button, it forces us to refocus on what really matters.

What travel means to me…leave our world a better place, meet different cultures, to learn, to escape reality, to relax, to explore, for humility, to eat, to be transformed, to live out your bucket list dreams and to get to know you and show you our beautiful country where people are hospitable, fun, simple, live with an open heart, where Fado is Portuguese, where you will find the best wines in the world, where gastronomy is unique and the landscapes are so amazing that you will miss them after witnessing them and embracing our Portugal!

I am a professional in mountaineering activities and since 1998 I started to guide Portuguese groups in Portugal and Spain. In 2010, I became an official mountain guide through the Portuguese National Mountaineering school in which I have the certificate of hiking monitor.

I hope that my programs please you and that I have the opportunity to share with you the moments and places of scenic and cultural interest in our beautiful territory.
