Welcome to Tromsø, The largest city in Northern Norway.

Surrounded by snow capped mountains, Tromsø has a large student population and is famous for its music and film culture. Get out and explore the “Gateway to the Arctic”.

We recommend starting with a ride on the cable car, which runs up a mountain ledge. The gondolas known as Seal and Polar Bear, have a capacity of 28 passengers. From the viewing platform at the upper station, you can enjoy fenomenal views of the city, surrounding islands, mountains and fjords.

Fjellstua restaurant is a great place to eat dinner.

You will be picked up in Tromsø. Arriving at Camp, you will meet the guides and start your musher training. You will learn how to harness the dogs and put together a team. After a lesson on how to drive a dog team we head out into the arctic wilderness.

During your adventure you will experience the unique arctic scenery surrounding our Camp. We will stop for pictures and tasty lunch to refuel.

After a day of dog sledding we head back to the camp. We unharness and feed the dogs before going inside to relax. The host awaits you with delicious local food based on arctic commodities.

After breakfast, the day is free to explore Tromsø at your own speed. With a large university, various restaurants, art galleries, museums, and nearby ski resorts. Tromsø is a notoriously lively city! It also prides itself on having more pubs per capita than any other Norwegian town, so take this opportunity to sample some of the local brews.

If you'd prefer an arranged excursion with a knowledgable guide, take a walking tour of Tromsø. Explore the largest city in the North—street by street—and take in its rich culture and beautiful architecture, including its colorful 18th-century wooden houses. View relics and buildings from the medieval era, and learn about the city’s extensive fishing culture, which was established when trade in Norway was at its peak. End your day with a tour of the stunning Arctic Cathedral.

Today you will be picked up by your guide in Tromsø. Enjoy the short trip out of centrum, along the coast, towards the reindeers and sledges. Here you will jump on your sledge and let your guide lead you through the snow.

After the trip you will have the opportunity to visit the camp and feed the herd, consisting of around 300 reindeers. After this experience, you will get into a warm lavvo (sami tent) and eat a traditional meal while your guide tells stories. Join in singing “joiks” - a traditional Norwegian sami song.
