Itinerary

Day 1

Route 62

Depart Cape Town and travel along Route 62 to Barrydale for lunch (not included in cost). Continue to Oudtshoorn – the ‘feather capital’ of the world. Visit a working ostrich farm for a guided tour. Check into your accommodation in the late afternoon before enjoying a delicious dinner.

Day 3

Plettenberg Bay Exploration

Enjoy a morning tour of the Cango Caves – one of the natural wonders of the world. Embark on a Knysna lagoon boat trip before proceeding to Plettenberg Bay.

Arrive at your accommodation where you shall spend the following two nights. Plenty of time to freshen up before dinner at the lodge.

Experience The Cango Caves for yourself before a fun filled boat cruise along the Knysna Lagoon

  • An intimate, thatched 25 square metre bedroom with king/twin beds, half bathroom en-suite with french doors leading onto outdoor patio seating area. Each room is equipped with an air conditioner, mini bar, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, flat screen TV with DVD player and bespoke amenities.
Day 4

Plettenberg Bay Exploration

After breakfast, you have a chance to visit Birds of Eden – the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world. Proceed on a horse-drawn carriage trip followed by a wine tasting on the Plettenberg Bay wine route.

Optional: Marine Encounter boat trip (weather and time permitting; additional charge) before returning to the lodge for the remainder of the afternoon at leisure before dinner.

Time to visit The Birds of Eden – the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world

Hunter’s Country House

  • Ideally situated between the coastal towns of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape.
  • Accommodation consists of a variety of cottage suites, each equipped with air conditioning, a minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, internet access and a private patio. Certain suites have their own plunge pools. -Guests can enjoy a range of delicious meals at either of the on-site restaurants. Other amenities offered are a large pool with loungers to relax on, a children’s playground and a lounge with a fireplace.
Day 5

Tsitsikama National Park - Port Elizabeth

Journey along the final leg of the Garden Route Tour to the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park – ‘garden of the Garden Route’. Enjoy a walk along the suspension bridge across the Storms River mouth gorge offering incredible views.

The tour ends on arrival in Port Elizabeth at approximately 18h00 with drop-off at the hotel or airport.
